And all the locals casinos in general are doing very well here in the local market. Yeah, yeah. MGM would give us a free room. [laughs] They would. That's true. We, uh, we could stay at the Excalibur. Oh. Okay?
0:08
Uh, and then we have Kathy Griffin, other entertainment. That's gonna be- Okay, wait a second... uh, interesting You can't just... You can't go to the show unless you have thick skin. Oh, yeah.
0:18
[upbeat music] All right, guys, today's top story, it feels like Mexico's coming to Vegas or something. What? Yeah. You know, when we go down to Mexico, these all-inclusive vacations where you get like- Oh, yeah...
0:30
the room- I do know about those... yeah, we all know about that. We've been down there several times and, uh, indulged a little bit much. A little bit. This isn't quite all the way there. Yeah, not quite.
0:38
You don't get all the, all the alcohol you can drink. Right. They might not be able to stay in business if you came and did that. [laughs] Yeah, true. But MGM- And Joe, you gotta remember Joe. Joe and Shyla.
0:48
If he- Joe B- that Joe... oh, man, if he was with us- Oh, we'd be in trouble... an all-inclusive [laughs] Yeah, no. Not, not good. [laughs] All right.
0:53
So MGM is launching a package, and this seems to be something that's a trend now- Looks great... here. I'm excited to see this. Yeah.
1:00
I think it's showing that they are capitulating a little bit and, like, also, uh, hitting the oh crap button. A little bit. Because it's all happening all at once, and some of these deals are pretty good. Yeah? So MGM,
1:12
Luxor and Excalibur, so not their premier properties, but a way to get people here. Right, right. $330 plus tax for two nights for two guests. Two guests. It's a real good deal.
1:25
So what is it, 150 plu- 165 dollars a night. Right. Seems pretty interesting. Includes your room, meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Right. It's like a full slate of meals. It's... Yeah. It's- You get to pick a show.
1:38
They're pretty decent shows. It includes parking, so if you're coming here- Parking... from out of town, it includes the parking. Parking's big, too. Uh, and the resort fre- uh, fee is all in- Resort fee... all included.
1:47
Pretty good deal. Just the parking and the resorts fee is usually around 50 bucks. Right. Somewhere in that range. Each. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah. So- So... again, it's, it's at a lower end property.
1:55
Uh, the last time I stayed at the Luxor, I felt like I had to take a, a chemical bath afterwards. No, stop it. All right. It's not that bad. Stop it. I'm just kidding. It's not that bad.
2:02
But it is their older property, so it's... You know, you think about their premier properties, Bellagio- Right... Aria- They've done some renovations there too... Cosmo. Yeah.
2:10
I, I don't, I don't know that Excalibur's done much renovations of the rooms, but Luxor has for sure. The... It was a few years ago, I remember. Um, I, I don't know, man. I haven't stayed in one of their rooms.
2:20
Maybe we should do that sometime just to see. Yeah. A- in, in all seriousness, I mean, they're clean. Yeah. Like, they're just da- they're just dated, but they are clean. Yeah. And, uh, and they're in a good location.
2:29
Great location. I mean, both of those p- p- properties are great locations. All end, yeah. Yeah. They're all right there at the corner. Yeah. And pretty soon they're gonna have a baseball field right across the street.
2:37
So what's funny is Resorts World actually kicked this off first. So there was another property I think in town that was doing it as well, but I went to look at this and be, "Oh, wow. They, they...
2:45
Resorts World's, like- The Plaza downtown was- Right... doing something similar, but, um, it was, like, all you can eat, room, drinks, but it had some difference to it. I don't think a resort fee.
2:55
I don't think there was parking, things, but it was close. I saw that a month ago, two months ago. So Resorts World, similar situation. I went to look at it last night, 'cause, like, they don't advertise the price.
3:06
Like MGM- Oh... and by the way, it is starting at 330. So, like, if you try to go pick a- It's gonna go up... well, if you just pick a different day, that might be a bit less expensive. Oh, okay. Gotcha.
3:13
So it's not like... When, when Circa did it, it was like any day that you could, y- were able to reserve it, I think it was Sunday through Thursday, was always the same price. Right. So it was...
3:22
MGM- You mean the one we did? Right. Yeah. Yeah, because we did a- Yeah... you know, and they were the very first ones to do this- Yeah... which I thought was, was brilliant. But that wasn't all inclusive either.
3:27
That was, uh- No, but it included-... specific... it was a package. Yeah, it was a package, yeah. We'll call these packages- Right... instead of all inclusive, 'cause- Okay...
3:33
to me, all inclusive in- Yeah, would include everything... is everything. Right. [laughs] So Resorts World, uh, has a similar thing, but it's 450 a- 450... a night. Midweek.
3:42
Midweek, and I went to go book, 'cause I went to book it just to see what the calendar was. 650 on any other weekend. They were, like, talking about how, like, Club 66 was, like...
3:49
'Cause like they list all the things in the package. Okay. But when I went to book it, that was an add-on. $75- $75 a night... to go to the club? Well, it's, uh, it's not- What's the club? It's, uh...
3:57
I think it's on the 66th floor, and it has, like, continental breakfast. It's like a- Oh... and, like, you know, a little- 75 a day?... drinks at night. A day. Oh, sheesh. Yeah, per room. Okay.
4:05
So, you know, if you gotta get someone there. That gets a little pricey. So Resorts World seems like a- But you are at a much nicer property... it is a nicer property... much nicer.
4:10
But they still haven't gotten the value message yet. Right. I mean, that's still pretty expensive. I mean- Premium. Premium... I mean, I don't know that that's much of a discount at the end of the day.
4:20
Yeah, I don't know. So- I've never stayed at Resorts World. You did. You stayed there for a conference or- I did. It, it was beautiful. I mean, I don't know what their, what their rate was.
4:26
It was comped, 'cause it was a part of the- Yeah... it wasn't comped by the casino. We were there for an event. Right. And I was speaking, and they just gave me a room. Right. Yeah. I'm like, "I'm a local.
4:33
I don't really need a room." They're like, "Take the room." Take the room. I'm like, "Okay. We can come back." Staycation. Yeah. And then I went downstairs and- And then paid for the room. [laughs] Yeah.
4:42
Ah, that happens. Paid for the... That's why I wanted to stay in Vegas. Well, good thing. Yeah. Uh, speaking of Resorts World, right next door there's, like, this big vacant property. Right.
4:51
My understanding with all this was that when they originally built Resorts World, like, all that was gonna be developed out, and it was in the middle of, like, the, the financial crisis and- Right...
4:58
you know, Fontainebleau is, like, gets, like, halfway built and they just stop. And they stop, yes. And, like, Resorts World was, like, about to go bankrupt.
5:04
They, in terms of, like, not being able to finish the project, and they had to just, like, get the thing done. Yeah. Well, now there's this huge piece of land- Huge... right there that could hold the new- NBA team...
5:14
NBA team. Arena. Okay. The word is that the Las Vegas market and the Seattle market would be the next expansion teams. Right. Right. We're hearing a lot- Which there's a lot about this... it's not been finalized yet.
5:24
Right. But we're hearing a lot about it, 'cause they've actually approved to think about it. To think about it. [laughs] You gotta go through these stages. This is what really rich people do.
5:30
They let us- Sounds like politics to me... make decisions. Yeah, they- We'll, we'll approve to approve something. Right. We, we'll... So they're, they're gonna have an official vote this year- Okay... at some point.
5:37
But the word on the street is it's, like, kind of a done deal. Yeah. Because the feeling is that they need to add some expansion teams to the NBA. Right. So, like, the feeling is like- And this is the place...
5:47
it's the time. Yes. And the next markets that make sense is Seattle, 'cause they had their team and they lost it. Right. So they're, like, they've been promised a team. Right.
5:54
And Vegas seems like a very successful sports town. We're moving in that... Yeah, we're moving in that way. We got the baseball coming. Yeah. Yeah. Next up- We have football, we have hockey. We have hockey, yeah.
6:03
They're all incredibly successful in terms of, like-Filling the seats... filling the seats Right, yeah Because people come here to see their team. Right Vegas is a, will, will be one of the smallest markets.
6:13
It, it's one of the smallest football markets. It's one of the- For, for, per capita that live in the city, you mean? It, it's, in terms of the, the metro area, and it's, it's by TV market, what they call- Right...
6:23
a TV market. Yes, yes, yes. You have your metro area, and it's based on how many people live in the metro area- Okay... the, the statistical area.
6:28
And so Vegas isn't, you know, a top 10 city in terms of, like- Still in LA it's easy to fill the stadium 'cause there's 20 million people. It's the second largest- We have two... you know. Or three. 2.8. Three.
6:35
And, and, and they have more than one team. Yeah. Similar with, like, New York. Right. So, but people come here. They do. People come here from all over the world- They do...
6:42
or all over the country, and as a part of their trip, they go see their favorite team. They go see their team. Sure. It's like, "Oh, well I, I love the Spurs." Yeah. "And so I'm gonna come here and watch a Spurs game."
6:51
Or I- The Spurs. What made you choose the Spurs? I was just thinking about DQ. Aw. Yeah. How sweet. Maybe, maybe I love the Cardinals. [laughs] So I'm gonna come here and watch a Cardinals game. Right. Right, right.
6:59
I'll drive up for the week and watch a Cardinals game. All right. Whatever it is, an- you know, again, you come here, every game seems to have every seat filled, and, uh, the prices are expensive on the, on the StubHub.
7:09
Yes. They are expensive. So people that have season tickets seem to love it. Yeah. We actually went and saw the Wizard of Oz the other night at The Sphere,
7:16
and the tickets for the Wizard of Oz, it's been going for how long? Maybe five months, six months, something like that? I think it's something in that range. A year. It's been going for a year?
7:24
It's been going for a year. Really? A full year? Wow. Okay, wow. That year moved by. Well- Okay, so- Maybe it's been five or six months since we've seen it...
7:28
as the show started, the cheapest tickets I could find on SeatGeek or something, one of those, was 200 bucks. Oh. Yeah. As it started. That's- These are last minute tickets. People trying to- Yeah... resale. Yeah. $200.
7:42
I couldn't believe it. I mean, that show continues to sell out. It does. It's one of the most successful things that's ever come to Vegas. It was crazy. It's netted millions and millions of dollars. Millions. Millions.
7:51
It's crazy how well that thing's doing. And it's an impressive thing. Yeah. It's really cool to see. However, I mean, like, I'm glad I went to see it. Like, I, I, really glad I went to see it. Right. It is very unique.
8:00
Right. But there's other things I think you can see there that are better value. That are amazing. Like, go see that rave. Oh, yeah. Like, for whatever reason, those ticket prices come way down. Yeah.
8:06
And it's twice the length. I think the people that wanna see that, uh, there were a lot, it was a lot of older- Yeah... that they had- Younger, younger audience... they watched it as a kid.
8:15
They wanted to see it in, in that format. It was pretty cool. It's a, it's a truncated version of the movie. It was amazing. Yeah. But it's still amazing. [clears throat] You gotta just come, just see the tornado.
8:24
Just to see it. Right. Yeah. Exactly. The tornado thing was amazing. All right. All right. Durango. Durango, phase three. We're in a, in a Stations property right now. We are. Stations, we've, we've reported on this.
8:33
Station Casino, uh, and all the locals casinos in general are doing very well here in the local market. Yeah. And as a part of this they're renovating it seems like everywhere all at once. Yep.
8:42
Uh, the state of Nevada seems to be dealing now with the roads. [laughs] Yeah. All the time. So Station Casinos, yeah, Station Casino seems to wanna do that now with their properties.
8:50
So there's, uh- Massive reinvestment... now phase three, $385 million expansion. Oof. Uh, phase two was they, they're building that other tower. Yeah. I think it's, it's actually done now.
8:59
Um, and they also redid their high limit room, which is amazing. We gotta go out there. We haven't been out there for a minute. It's beautiful. Yeah. It's a nice one. It's, I'm jealous that that is across town. Oh.
9:06
Right, right. 'Cause it is- Right... in my opinion, their best property. Well, it's the newest. So they, they put a lot of new stuff into it. It's- They made it look nice and fancy. It's not as shiny and new.
9:14
They're doing renovations here. Yeah. They're, they're gonna make this look new as well. Kinda like that. Yeah. But the thing I love about Durango is it doesn't feel like your typical casino. Yeah?
9:25
Because it's got windows. Yeah. And there's sunlight that comes in. And there's, like- A lot of the restaurants have patios- Yeah... where you can sit outside. It all spills outside. Yeah.
9:33
Like, it's how it should be here- Yeah, I love that... in Vegas. I wouldn't necessarily do that in Atlantic City, where it gets to be 30 degrees- Yeah, freezing cold... in the winter, whatever. And it's- Right...
9:39
97% humidity in the summer. Right. But here- Yeah... it seems like it makes sense. And yeah, you just, you flow from the parking lot into the sportsbook, into the casino. Right. I love that. And it just has a great feel.
9:51
And I wish they would, they would do that here. But they are, again, as Ryan said, s- putting 100 m- hundreds of millions of dollars here in, uh, in the Green Valley Ranch. They've redone their, their towers here.
10:01
We talked about that last week. Right. Stations is, is doing things.
10:04
I actually did walk around the casino floor before we started today, and they just opened a new area where they've redone all the ceilings and everything in here.
10:11
So when this is done I'm gonna walk over there with Mike just so he can see what's going on here, because it's, it's really changing here in Green Valley, for sure, so. We're, uh- So it's a move forward...
10:20
we're, we're playing slots later today. I hope the, the new carpet that they have here and the, and the new columns is not the most exciting thing I see all day. Yeah. No. Hopefully... [laughs] You know. Yeah.
10:29
They are, they are doing a lot. Yeah. Um, why don't I take a break just real quick in the middle of the podcast here and thank all of our fans who came out to our first group pull. Oh, man. Amazing.
10:39
How freaking awesome was this? We got some footage we'll throw in here. Awesome. I w- I was, I, I sent an email out just thanking everybody that came, 'cause I originally thought we'd get- It was awesome...
10:47
maybe 20 people. You know? It was awesome. Like, I mean, I, and then I'm like thinking to myself, "Of those 20 people, 16 of them will be friends." Right. 'Cause we have exactly 16 friends that live here.
10:55
Is that what it is? 11, 11 friends. Yeah, I think it's, I counted them up the other day. Okay. And, uh, and so I'm like, okay, maybe a- at least four people from DJ Nation would show up. Ooh.
11:02
And then the list was growing- Growing... from, like, 20 to- It was awesome... 50 to 75 to 100. And thank God for Ellis Island and Nick, 'cause I mean, they just, just went with it. They're like- They did...
11:12
"Well, we're starting to bust at the seams. We don't really have a place for that. We'll figure that out." And they moved us from one venue to another, and then they, like- Yeah...
11:18
cleared out the entire front yard for us. That was something that most people wouldn't necessarily do. Yeah, it was awesome. And I really appreciate their help. It was a ton of fun.
11:26
Uh, we had $10,500 we did in the group pull. It was just awesome. If you wanna see Mike and I stress out, bring 100 people to a group pull. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. I was just- I mean, it was... We, oh. Man.
11:36
And we went down early and got it all back, and I was just- We were down thousands... stress case... we were down piles, and then we got even. I'm like, "Let's stop. We're done." We're like, "Let's go. We're done.
11:41
We're out of here." Time out. Booked over. "Cut it off." It was cool. So anyway, that footage is there. Yeah. We hope you'll consider coming to a future group pull.
11:47
Uh, the upcoming ones are National Harbor, April 14th in Washington, DC. Yes. Yes. Then we have April 24th back at Ellis Island. Thanks to them, I think, uh, they, we might have some additional goodies to give you. Yeah.
11:58
We got, uh, a debrief to do with them, and they've told me that there might be some other cool things that come out. I'm pretty excited about what happened, so yeah.
12:04
And that'll be the last Friday of every month at Ellis Island. And we have, we think, May 5th-... in California- Oh, yeah... which we'll announce officially here in a minute. Okay. All right, our next story is a fun one.
12:15
Yeah. [laughs] One that I hope to be a part of someday. [laughs] We do it every day. I don't know, uh, I- Like, we just don't try eight. No. I figured sitting here- Maybe we should try eight. Maybe. Maybe.
12:24
[laughs] It pays 100K. 100K. Maybe that's our problem, we're aiming too low. Too low, right.
12:27
If you guys don't watch our daily videos, we have a segment called Keno Korner, and we try to hit a six spot every day and give out gift cards. Right. We've been at this now for six, seven, eight months or whatever.
12:38
It's been a while. We've hit two five spots, or maybe three. At least. I think it's at least three. Three? At least three, yeah. Okay. Three five spots. We've never hit the six spot. Never hit the six spot.
12:44
And now it's just a joke, and this guy hit an eight spot. Eight. $400,000. That's just crazy. Yeah. That is crazy. It was, it was on a dollar bet. 100 grand. So... I'm gonna be there. I bet he was excited. [laughs] Yeah.
12:58
Yeah. All right, slightly less fun. You're right. Uh, some of our people just lost their jobs. Not fun at all. No. Exactly. But something we gotta talk about. IGT- Yeah...
13:05
one of the biggest, um, m- slot, uh, manufacturers and video poker manufacturers here in the city, uh, merged. This is typical. Um, and, you know, with consolidation, it's like, oh, economy's a scale- Yeah...
13:18
and like you don't need two accounting- Totally... accounting departments. Right. You don't need two HR departments or whatever, and so there are probably a lot of those types of jobs- Right... that end up getting lost.
13:26
But it certainly... Uh, now this is worldwide, but I'm sure a lot of them were here- Were here, yeah... because, uh, you know, that makes sense. Yeah, that's, that's no good.
13:33
So, you know, just a, it's another hit to the local economy, which seems to just keep on getting lashes- Yeah... uh, a little bit here and there. So, um,
13:41
but with every thing that comes and goes here, there's something coming, right? Right. We're that's the goes. Well, Vanderpump, it's here. Yep. Almost here. We've been talking about it. They're remodeling.
13:50
Seen the photos of the rooms. Yeah. They look beautiful. I think we have some renderings we can throw up there. Yeah? Yeah, we can throw those up. They look beautiful. They're renderings.
13:55
We haven't been in there yet, but, um- Miss Degen was really excited that they have a tree in the room. Is that right? I don't know why. Oh. I don't know why she was so excited about that.
14:05
Is it a real tree or a plastic tree? No, I think it's fake, but it's just- Okay... a tree. It's not something that... Yeah, it's kinda her thing is- Okay...
14:11
to have, like, what looks like a live plant, and it is in every room, I guess. I don't know. I, I, I guess it looks nice. Do you think they AI'd it in there? It might- It's not real? I don't know. [laughs] Okay.
14:21
I haven't stayed there. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, it looks, it looked nice in the picture. Uh, late May, guys, they're gonna be... Uh, they're, they're already taking book- bookings here. Yep. So
14:31
if you wanna be one of the first ones in the Vanderpump home. Maybe we should go stay there. Maybe we should do, like, a, a monthly- Ooh...
14:37
stay at one of the hotels around town just to let people know on our podcast how they are. Yeah. Well, the first one's- [laughs]... gonna be the Rio because- Staycation... they wanna give us a free room, so.
14:47
Yeah, we like free rooms. Yeah. I don't know if Vanderpump's giving out free rooms yet. [laughs] MGM would give us a free room. They would. That's true. We, uh, we could stay at the Excalibur.
14:54
Oh, we could stay at all of them. Yeah. We can just go down the s... We start at Mandalay Bay. Start at Mandalay, right. And then just go down the row until we hit Cosmo. Oh, right. Okay.
15:00
And then, and then we see if we can go knock on Caesars Door and- Yeah... say, "Do you know who we are?" Maybe I can call someone. Oh. Maybe. So... Look at this one. Yeah. Look at this. 1.12 million. One two. Okay.
15:12
Our friend Janelle- They had to just trump the eight, uh- This good trying to-... the 100,000 Keno... yeah. She does it with, with, uh, Pie Gal. Yes, yes. This, they, they hit this on Mississippi Stud. Mississippi Stud.
15:22
I don't think I've played that. Over at Harrah's. I've played it before. It's a variation of poker. Okay. Uh, seven figure table game jackpot. Yeah. It's one of these side bets. Yeah, yeah.
15:32
Um- Five bucks or something to get into it... I think it was two, actually. $2 side bet? But somehow they didn't make it in here, but I did read about it. 1.12 million. Uh- Crazy.
15:38
It's one of these crazy things where, like, you gotta get dealt a royal flush in order- Seven cards... plus the, plus the nine and 10. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. You know? It just- No. Or sorry. The eight and nine.
15:49
Eight and nine. Eight and nine. Yeah, eight and nine. Eight and nine. It's, it's nuts. That's crazy. Um- Here's, here's one of Mike's favorite. Gas is near $5, but he drives an electric car.
15:58
Yeah, I drive an electric car. [laughs] So... This is, so this doesn't affect him. I mean- But it does affect you. It does affect me, actually. You know why?
16:02
'Cause the power goes up that you have to charge your car with. Yeah. 'Cause the trucks that deliver the gas... And, uh, and the, and it just goes on and on and on down the...
16:11
So it does affect you a little bit, but not at the gas pump. The, the thing that, that worries me about this is not my price of power here- Right... or gas. It's the- I just always am worried about the local economy.
16:22
Yes. I already see all these problems here. We have- People coming from California... Canadian visitations down, international visitation in general is down. Just visitation's down. Yeah.
16:30
But, like, the pipeline from California has still been pretty, pretty strong. Yeah. Well, it could go down with- And, and this will definitely change things... five, six dollar gas. Yeah. Yeah, and they're probably...
16:38
That's, that's $5 here. Right. Six dollars. In California it means six, seven dollar gas. Yeah. And you start thinking twice. Yeah. Like, I gotta- Maybe you come twice a month- A lot of-...
16:45
instead of four times a month... yeah. Or whatever it might be. A lot of Vegas trips are like, "It's Friday, man." Like, you wanna go- Come on, let's go... wanna go to Vegas? Yep. Yep. Let's go. Yeah. I'm, I'm all in.
16:52
And now it's like, "Well, you know, it's an extra 50 bucks in gas." Yeah. So. It ends up being a lot. We always like to talk about the new restaurants coming to town, 'cause this is something we will go do.
17:02
I did not know what this was. Yeah. Uh, is this somewhere else? I- is this restaurant in other cities or what? No, no, it's here at Sahara. No, are, is it- Oh. You know, I don't know. You don't know? Okay.
17:11
I don't know anything about this guy. I was wondering if it was, like, in Miami and they brought it up. You know- They do that a lot... I, I don't know that.
17:17
Uh, but Maroon by Kwame, and I can't pronounce this guy's last name. O-N-W- Onwuachi... U-A-C-H-I. Onwuachi. Is any of that silent? It looks like one of those letters might be silent. [laughs] We'll call him On-wu.
17:29
On-wu? Or like we'll, we'll shorten it like J Lo. Onwu? On- Onwu. Onwu Onchi. Yeah, Onwu. Onwu Onwu. Onwu. Okay. But that's coming to Sahara. I, I really wanna put this in here 'cause- Premium... it's interesting. Sahara
17:41
hits you with curve balls every now and then. They do. They do. It's kind of like the property that w- never gets talked about much. It's true. It's gone through, like, all these transitions recently.
17:47
Like, it was, like, this one thing. It was Sahara, obviously, for the longest time. Yeah. And then it became, like, what? SLS. SLS. Yeah. And then it was something else.
17:53
It also had a split in the back where they had- Yeah... like, two properties in one. Um, yeah. I'm, I'm surprised... Uh, if this is a premium, I'm surprised. They don't get a lot of that down there off of Sahara. No.
18:07
But my guess, and I don't have confirmation of this, is that-It's where the Bazaar Meat was. Oh, really? Okay. Because they lost that relationship. Yeah. And maybe it's gonna go in there. That was a big restaurant.
18:16
I would definitely like to try it. So we'll probably go there. We love food. [laughs] We love putting the food pictures in the, in the video, so now we have an excuse to go do it.
18:23
We're not allowed to eat our food until pictures are taken- Yeah... just so you know. So when you see all that amazing food, by the time we eat it, it's cold.
18:29
[laughs] And I've got on word that this is a Caribbean steakhouse. [laughs] And wait. Yeah, it's- It's a Caribbean steakhouse? Yeah. Oh, gotcha. Yeah. Okay. Here we go. [laughs] So it makes sense- Makes sense...
18:39
that it would go in the Bazaar Meat's spot. Right. All right. Entertainment time. Here we go. I don't even know who this guy is. Oh, I did- I'm gonna get backlash.
18:45
Let me, let me- No, I've heard, I've heard this- Let me educate you... I've heard this name before. I'm kidding. Country singer, Ryan. Gotcha. Country singer. Gotcha.
18:50
Broke the attendance record at Allegiant, which is our biggest stadium here in town. Yeah. It's where the Raiders play. Uh, Luke Combs. All right. Well, I'd like to meet this guy. I've heard he's a lot of fun.
19:00
That's all I know about him. He sings country music, and I've heard he's a lot of fun. I wish I could hang out with this guy, uh, just based upon what I've heard people say about him.
19:09
Like, he's- 135,000 people- He's gotta be pretty awesome-... over two nights... if he can do that. I don't understand how this is not a record held by Taylor Swift. Right.
19:18
'Cause she was here- She had to sell the place out... and it was beyond sold out. Right. It was like the most- Standing room only... anticipated thing here.
19:25
Uh, and it was l- early in the tour before- Maybe they figured a way to- Right... fit more seats in there- That might be... after she was here. I think that that's what it is. Yeah. Th- this happens all the time.
19:32
Like, they, they just lay the floor out slightly different- Right... or they, they find a way to put seats up in the concourse or- Right. Right... you think about, uh, what's the restaurant, Ari?
19:41
The Din Tai Fung, like, that's, it just spilled out into the- Right, into the casino or wherever. Yeah... it, it's crazy 'cause it's one of the most successful restaurants there. Right. Uh, so you got Luke Combs.
19:48
You got Kesha coming. Oh, Kesha. Uh, I haven't heard about her in a while. Like, she was- No, I haven't either... so popular for a long time. She's coming to MGM Grand Garden, May 29th. Okay.
19:57
Uh, and then we have Kathy Griffin, other entertainment. That's gonna be, uh- Okay, wait a second. [laughs] Okay. You can't just say Kathy Griffin because you can't go to the show unless you have thick skin. Oh, yeah.
20:07
Well- I mean, this lady... I've seen this lady. She doesn't hold back, man. No. She is- You've seen her live? Yeah. Oh, you have? Long time ago. Okay. She is... She lets it all out.
20:19
She also makes fun of being, like, a... She's not an A-lister. No. She's like a C or D-lister. Yeah, she's, her- And she makes fun of that... her stock has fallen. Yeah.
20:27
I don't know how she's gonna, uh- She just makes fun of it. She's not afraid to make fun of it. It, it says Point of Hollywood. Doesn't say in what... I was thinking it was gonna be in the big venue.
20:34
Maybe it won't quite be in that. Maybe in the comedy club where we saw- Maybe, yeah... Carlos Mencia. Right. But big names. We just try to throw anything that gets announced in there. Right.
20:41
Uh- She's funny, but you gotta- She's coming September 19th... y- you gotta handle it. She's, she gets a little raunchy and dirty and, yeah, she doesn't hold back. I can handle just about anything. I can too.
20:49
We're in a comedy show. I've talked about it- Yeah, we've talked about it... uh, in previous episodes.
20:52
Really, the only comedy show that I've ever been to, like, there was something that was, like, off-putting was the Fe- Off, the, the Avant. Yeah... the Fe- the Avant. Yeah. And the other one...
21:00
uh, I didn't mention this, but was Sarah Silverman. Oh, yeah. Uh, and- She can get a little off. I get, I get her act, but, like, she had this one spot where she... uh, she curses a lot and all that stuff. Yeah.
21:10
And I don't have any problem with that- Yeah, yeah... 'cause again, we're at a comedy show, but she was saying a bad word. [laughs] I can't obviously pronounce. I don't even wanna say what word. Right.
21:17
And just, like, over and over and over and over and over again. Right. To the point where it was just, like, uncomfortable. Yeah. And, uh- And you see the people around you getting uncomfortable.
21:23
Well, they were getting up and leaving. Yeah. Yeah. It was, it was a... first time I'd seen... uh, 'cause a lot of people come- That... with comp tickets. It was at a casino. It was in LA.
21:30
I think it was at the Borgata in Atlantic City. Right. And, you know, and people get comp tickets, and they don't know what they're going to see. Right. But it's free. Right.
21:36
And then, like, she's, like, just dropping this, like, over and over and over again. Yeah. And, like, one per- and then once one person gets up, like, and then it was just kind of like a- Yeah, the masses follow.
21:43
Yeah, it was a little, it was a little bit weird. Gotcha. But didn't offend me. It just was like, "This is kinda cringeworthy." Right. At any rate, those are the entertainment things coming. Well, there's one more.
21:52
Well, this is kinda not exact- well, I guess it is. Well, it kind of is but not exactly. It is. Well, I guess the next two are still all grouped in the same thing. It's why it's all together. Yeah.
21:59
Uh, EDC, one of the biggest draws here in Vegas. Literally. I mean, hundreds of thousands of people. Hundreds of thousands. Uh, it draws more than, than that Luke Combs thing. Yeah.
22:09
But it's not one artist, so it doesn't get counted as, as that. And it's not, and it's also not at, uh, Allegiant. Not Allegiant. They do it out at the Raceway, but what's this all about?
22:17
Well- They're trying to get it on the Strip? Is that- Well, there's gonna be a parade. Oh, okay. So it's like- So just a parade. Okay... in conjunction with the same weekend- Okay... as EDC.
22:26
So it'd still be out at the Raceway, but then they would do a parade. That's right. Okay. They're gonna do a parade here. They're gonna close down Las Vegas Boulevard. Oh, wow. They do that a few times a year.
22:32
So a warning to everybody. Yeah. I don't know why they need to, they feel the need to do this. Yeah, why don't they do it on Koval? Yeah, [laughs] exactly. [laughs] Why do they have to close down Las Vegas Boulevard?
22:40
Well, I, I know of a, a really great spot up in North Las Vegas- Right. Yeah, yeah... that'll be great. That wouldn't bother me [laughs] 'cause- Wouldn't bother anyone...
22:46
we live at the southeast of the middle of the Strip. Right. Uh, but, like, they do this for New Year's Eve. Yeah. Now, that we know. We just stay the heck away. But they did it for the marathon recently.
22:53
It's like- Marathon, and obviously they do it for the, for the Indy- F1. F1. That's the biggest disruption. F1. Yeah. So, uh, I'm excited to see that they're expanding it nonetheless. Right.
23:05
It's more reason for people to come, book rooms, be out there. Yeah. Spend some money, get, help the local economy.
23:10
And I'm sure some of those people that are in the parade are gonna go into those buildings on the Strip and gamble- Yeah... and spend money, so. Yep. Uh- And here's Mike's favorite. Oh, yeah. I can't wait. The last one.
23:19
Oh, yeah. And- We saved this for last. I'm, uh, ready to give every comp point we've ever gotten to get free tickets to this. To get tickets to this. Yeah, gotta go. WrestleMania. Are you even allowed to say, uh...
23:30
What was the... Are you, like, Hulkamania? Can we even say words like that without them being... Are they trademarked? I- 'Cause Hulkamania's not around anymore, but- 'Cause you can't say March Craziness.
23:41
Right, Craziness. Yeah, okay. Yeah. You can't say- But you can say WrestleMania because that's the event that is coming. You can't say Super Cereal. Okay, gotcha. [laughs] Like, I don't know, uh, Super Round Thing.
23:53
Yeah, the Super Round Thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So- Comes in like a cup, but it's bigger than a cup. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Gotcha. So you can't say any of that. Gotcha. So I don't know, uh, if you can say...
24:04
Maybe you can say- I, I think you can say WrestleMania's coming to town. They probably love that we're- I mean, they probably want us to tell people... we're telling people, yeah. At least won't be mad at us.
24:09
They do sell out actually, anyway. [laughs] Yeah. At any rate, not my thing. Right. We were joking about that. Uh, I did, I did love it when I was a kid. Absolutely. I was a big Hulk Hogan fan.
24:18
Um, I remember my cousin gave me free tickets at the old Capital Center, and watching that there- Oh, yeah... was, like, Andre the Giant. Oh, yeah. And, you know, I was 12. Hulk Hogan picked him up. Yeah. Oh, man.
24:27
It was, it was awesome. That was crazy. Uh, that's April 18th and 19th. Lot of stuff with entertainment here. I mean, one thing that Vegas seems to still have is a big draw- Yeah... for this stuff.
24:38
I hope that you don't start seeing cracks in that foundation with that, but it seems like every big act still wants to come here. Right. And they all still sell out. Yeah.
24:45
So that gets people here on a plane, on a train... Oh, no, there's no train yet. Oh, plane, on a train. Train's coming. There's no boat. Train's coming. Automobile. Yeah. You know. Segway, scooter, moped.
24:57
Dumb and Dumber, they rode a moped all the way through the Rockies. That's a long way, man, on a moped. [laughs] 'Cause you gotta take the highway. There's no back road the whole way ever. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
25:04
So at some point you gotta get on the 13- That's right... to hit the mountain, so. Yeah. All right, well, that about wraps things up for this week. Wraps it up. Yeah. Thanks for watching. Thanks for being here. Mr.
25:13
DJ might make everyone another story. What one was that? I actually just thought about it. What is it? The penny's going away potentially. It is. Yeah. Well, it's not, it's, it's going to. Yeah.
25:22
They're, they've already got restaurants and places here in town that just round your change. Yeah. They don't even give it to you. They did it at Ellis Island.
25:28
You have to, you have to actually ask them, or they won't give it to you. They won't give you the pennies. Yeah. I think Ellis Island was r- rounding to the nearest nickel when you go into a change machine. Right.
25:35
If you ask, they'll give it to you, but- There was a funny story about, like, will penny machines go away? I don't see that happening. No, 'cause you just, like, you pay a dollar.
25:42
You're not betting, you're not betting a penny. Right. You're betting 50 cents or a dollar. Or a dollar, yeah. 75 cents, 88 cents, all these different things. I wonder about the nine cent machine here.
25:49
Oh, now that might be a problem. That might go away. Yeah. Yeah, that might go. So at any rate, when we get more information about this- We'll let you know... we'll let you know, but there could be no more Abe Lincolns.
25:57
Right. All right. So go collect- Well, we ended on that then... go collect your pennies. We gotta go. [laughs] We'll see y'all next week. See you next week. Don't forget to hit like and subscribe
