Lucas Jumalon Wins the WSOP Main Event
The 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event has a champion.
Lucas Jumalon, a 22-year-old from Spokane, Washington, won the bracelet and the $10 million top prize after the final table played out at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
He beat Finland’s Lauri Saaskilahti heads-up in under two hours, with the runner-up still taking home $6 million.
The field started with 9,208 entries, which makes this the kind of poker dream story that keeps the game alive every summer in Vegas.
VICI and Caesars Float a Center-Strip NBA Arena
The NBA-to-Vegas race has another major idea on the table.
VICI Properties said it is working with Caesars on a potential arena behind Paris, Horseshoe, and Planet Hollywood.
That puts the proposed site right in the heart of the Strip and adds another option alongside the T-Mobile Arena ideas we have already been watching.
The takeaway: the conversation is changing from whether Vegas gets an NBA team to where the arena goes — and who gets to build it.
Wynn’s $5.8B Middle East Resort Opens Next Year
Wynn says its $5.8 billion integrated resort in the United Arab Emirates is still on track to open next year.
That matters because it is expected to be the first legal casino resort in the Middle East, located on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
For a Vegas-born operator, this is a massive bet on a brand-new gaming market.
The bigger story: the biggest Vegas names are increasingly global, with Las Vegas still as home base.
