Vegas felt very split this week: fewer flyers, softer room rates, and pressure on the regular visitor — while casinos keep chasing whales, high-limit players, and headline-making jackpots. At the same time, the city keeps refreshing its brands, venues, and locals casinos to fight for attention.

Table Jackpots Go Wild
This week, it was the tables going off — not the slots.

Fontainebleau Opens a $5M High-Limit Slot Room
Fontainebleau opened an expanded high-limit slot lounge with 135 new machines, bringing the property to 1,325 slots total.
The headliners are three Aristocrat Dragon Link machines connected to jackpots reaching $5 million, plus more games with jackpots up to $1 million.
It is another clear sign of the current Vegas economy: mid-tier visitors may be getting room deals, but the biggest money is still chasing high-limit players.
Toshiba Plaza Becomes Paramount+ Plaza
The outdoor plaza beside T-Mobile Arena has a new name: Paramount+ Plaza.
Paramount+ entered a multiyear partnership with the venue, and the two-acre space formerly known as Toshiba Plaza will now host events, screenings, and promotional experiences tied to Paramount+ programming.
Important note: it is the plaza that was renamed — not T-Mobile Arena itself.

Station Casinos gave nearly 10,000 employees more than $70 million in Red Rock Resorts Class A shares, with employees receiving $1,000 in stock for every year of service.
Vegas also keeps showing signs of the whale economy: the Strip won more gaming money even with softer air traffic and convention numbers.
At the same time, room rates are falling as properties try to win back mid-tier visitors.
And G2E is coming back to the Venetian Expo from September 28 to October 1, where the next wave of slot machines and casino tech gets shown off first.
